The story starts in a lost island in Cambodia, a morning empowered by entheogens and a recurrent whiz that just made so much sense on the space, time and speed we were thriving in.
"Ulaghize" is a word on the Ethiopian language Amharic, meaning "Continually".
"Satta Massa Gana Ahamlack Ulaghize" has been widely used by Reggae and Africanism artists meaning "praise to God continually".
In our multicolored world on that forgotten and almost virgin island there was no God, or there was no need for it at least, as we were surrounded by sacred nature and profane self-exploratory topics, but that high pitched, soft and beautiful "Ulaghize" word from the Abyssinians' song chorus started looping itself through the forest, we got lost into the echoes of that word, and went into understanding what "continually" meant in connection to ourselves, the world, living creatures surrounding us, love around and other powerful deep-jungle experiences.
I asked two talented explorers to add a perspective on the album, providing them single lines of abstracted sounds as a start for their experiments. hems did the Prologue and Epilogue to the experience, i knew he could abstract jungle sounds and decaying choruses into some beautiful trigger and cut of the trip. Daniel[i] was in charge of the interlude of the "act" starting with another single line of abstracted percussive echoes. Adding the depth of his sound design in the middle of the trip was definitely a way to breathe, or maybe to fall deeper into the twirl of sounds on the EP.
All Original Mixes has been produced with the only use of Reggae classic tracks, cut and abstracted to the point that im not really sure which ones are mixed with each other, and other field recordings from the island and other divine locations. Performed on Octatrack, SP404, Volca Kick and various effect pedals.
