Mental Groove ep is an explosion of grit and sensuality through dissonant melodic sequences and acid bass lines that journey into the brain. The EP sees Key Clef’s storied history within the rave scenes of Rome, as well as her artistic diversions beyond the club and into performance art and electroacoustic, distil her experience into a singular approach to the form, grooving on the minimal with ‘Isometric Sequencing’, and repurposing electro for ‘Call Your Mother’. Mental Groove is a one-take recorded track, readied on a minimal-yet-powerful bassline, and littered with spiralling synth. The EP is produced mainly on the original TR808 and analog synthesizers, heavily influenced by Detroit electro sound. The B side contains a dynamite electro Rmx signed by Composite_Profuse.
