From a concept perspective, Below the Surface, the debut album from Neuromorph, takes up to the year 2243 – when humanity has used up almost all of Earth's minerals, and decided to search for an alternative to Earth in space.
In 2248 a group of geologists founded a colony on the Moon to extract resources.
A month later, contact with the colonists was lost.
In the final report, the geologists said that instruments had detected a system of tunnels of unknown origin beneath the surface.
The control centre sent a rescue team to see what was going on. When they arrived, they found that all the colonisers had disappeared without a trace. Trying to understand what happened, the squad discovers an unknown hostile life form...
Musically, Below The Surface is an atmospheric Dark Drone Ambient with Noise and Industrial influences featuring in most tracks - with the shortest track on the album Natural Selection sounding almost like Techno.
