The Pentacle, one of the most ancient and widespread pagan symbols, was already known to Pythagoras and his disciples who indicated it as the mystical emblem of perfection since it can be created using a single closed and intertwined line: it is in fact represented by a five-pointed star enclosed in a circle, often also used to reproduce the elements of matter.
