Ed Escobar, also known as E M P T Y, is a producer and performer based in Galicia, Spain. He is back with his second EP, in this 2024 "Helicon," set to be released on Underbub Records, featuring four techno tracks.

The musical styles showcased in the EP exhibit a striking resemblance to the iconic sound of Mills, evoking “Something In The Sky Series".

The raw blip and sonar elements infused within "Helicon" and "Kalgan" transport listeners to outer space. Additionally, "Helicon" possesses distinct echoes of Lenny Posso's Chronicle label, while also drawing parallels to the captivating work of Stafan Linzatti.

"Sirio" and "Askone" are harder and more challenging, that sets them apart. "Sirio" falls between raw techno influenced by Polegroup and the warm-up style from Oscar Mulero's labels. On the other hand, "Askone" exudes echoes of Jeff Mills' signature style but with a distinct Barcelona flair, reminiscent of artists like 30drop or Eric Fetcher.

E M P T Y often layers industrial noise over straight beat techno rhythms for the greater of the fans of clubbing! The four tracks are minimal and loop-based, with a great groove and solid progression. The EP features subtle and progressive sounds, showcasing well-constructed material with a good evolution.
